Thanks so much for visiting my website. I’m not going to be talking about myself in the third person, which seems to be all the rage today. No, you’ve got me, and only me and I’m talking to you straight ‘cos that’s really who I am and what I do.
So what do I do now? As it happens the place to start is where I was three years or so ago when I a worn out local government employee, fed up, stressed, managing too many people, responsible for loads of frontline services such as Environmental Health, Planning and Corporate Health and Safety and rather worried about it all going horribly wrong.
So I decided to leave and start up my own business. No plans, no nothing in fact. To make it more interesting, I persuaded my husband, Mark Jennings, to leave his project management job as well. So, on 1st of August we were unemployed, without savings, no income and starting to make our big business plans. By the 7th August, we’d got some fab plans in place and it was starting to look peachy. On 17th August I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer which rather put a spanner in the works. It’s been an interesting ride I’m here to tell you, and I’ve learned a lot about myself, about business and about people.
Instead of being a stressed out council employee I now charge £200 an hour as a marketing consultant, chair Women In Business and am able to help growing businesses with affordable access to training, support and collaboration through my Guerrilla Business Connections Programme which the local council have now decided to sponsor!. I teach online marketing for organisations such as Kent University Business School, Chamber of Commerce and have worked with local authorities (ironically) and rising TV stars as well as small local businesses, such as dentists, business network owners, profession consultants and corporate entertainers – all looking to make a name for themselves on Google.
Life is just amazing – thank you!
